OOOHHH ... red & dragons! Can't get much better than this!

Is the title type hand-drawn? I really like it.

Nope, but glad you think so. Same title type as Blood of Ambrose. Very glad you like it - been waiting for you to come on and tell me if you did.

Sorry I kept you waiting!

Red is my favourite colour - blue is right there behind it. There's lots of energy in that cover, and I like the way the figure/dragon are in one set of opposite corners and the title/author are in the opposite set of corners. Also, because the title is basically black & there's some black in that corner, it stands out but doesn't stand out. And the way the "ckliff" the figure is standing on points directly at the dragon is very nice. And the swirliness of the background too.

Hmmm, 5 months to October.

Good analysis. Did you see this?

Thanks for the pointer! I have the SF Signal in my to-read list - so now I really need to read it more often!

I found The Grave Thief too bland.

Part of the problem is that most of Donato Giancola's & Todd Lockwood's art just strikes me as so-so. I just can't get enamoured of their style, but that doesn't prevent me from acknowledging that they are both fantastic artists. However, when I like something by them I REALLY like it! A lot!
